Journey of reconnection and renewal
Exploring key themes for a transformative retreat
  • Peaceful yoga practicies
    We will touch with hand the traditional way of doing yoga - much more about inner techniques than spectacular asanas. We will dive deep to connect to a more subtle self. Through guided sessions and personal exploration, we will journey inward to find tranquility and deeper understanding. Everything will be done in a relaxed and "shanti" style. Expect a peaceful, natural, and quiet retreat in a serene environment that encourages reflection and growth.
  • Recharging the nervous system
    For the entire duration of this retreat, we will put aside and switch off our phones and devices to give our nervous system a chance to rest and recharge. By stepping away from constant digital distractions, we will find more mental clarity and peace. We will get disconnected in order to connect with ourselves, purifying our energy systems and minds, and rejuvenating. This digital detox will enhance our ability to be present and fully engaged with the practices.
  • Planetary dispositions and moon cycles
    During this retreat, we also consider some planetary dispositions and moon cycles, as they have direct effects on our energy levels and minds, influencing our subtle practices. The retreat falls on a New Moon period, an ideal time to let go of old patterns and clichés. The days of the new growing moon will help us embrace new beginnings and fresh energy. We aim to leave this retreat reset and reloaded!
Welcome to these special 6 days designed as a perfect time and space to reassemble yourself, refresh, reset and restart. I invite you to the mountains of Montenegro to get a feel of the Himalayan yoga tradition and to have this unique experience of reconnecting yourself through tested tools of traditional yoga – which is actually so modern and effective with its approaches.

Our classes will start with some soft and balanced Hatha practice with a bit of Kriya and Raja Yoga. Nothing is too challenging physically, but there will be a mindful exploration of oneself and one's body according to classical yoga teachings. You will be guided through all levels of authentic yoga practice to get to that ultimate state of Yoga – Union (the word Yoga comes from the Sanskrit root "yuj" – to unite, to connect) – integration of Body, Mind, and Spirit.
By doing this, we will approach meditation the Yogic way – connecting our existing Asana practice to more subtle, sometimes undiscovered layers of yoga practice, gently exploring our body and mind, and ultimately arriving at Dhyana, a deep and natural meditative state of absorption, peace and joy.

Real yoga is always about meditation, be it movement or static, standing or sitting. In yoga, we always activate our body and its pranas first, as we go from gross to subtle, from physical to inner, from body to mind.
  • Gradually moving through asana, slow simple vinyasa and kriya, pranayama, pratyahara, dharana and dhyana. Connecting more familiar asana sequences to yoga inner techniques. Living and practising through important and too often overlooked principles and limbs of Classical Yoga:
  • Ahimsa
    Ahimsa - Nonviolence. The main Yama (principle of conduct) of yoga, starting with our own body and mind;
  • Pratyahara
    Pratyahara - Withdrawal of Senses (5th limb of eightfold Classical Yoga). Withdrawing energy from senses and redistributing this energy;
  • Dharana
    Dharana - Yogic Concentration (6th limb) while staying relaxed in body and mind. One pointed attention and focus;
  • Dhyana
    Dhyana - Meditation (7th limb). Actual meditative state of body and mind, which comes naturally and without any struggle or active effort to sustain it, if all previous steps are done correctly.

    Ašuma silent retreat
    This place, set in Lovcen National Park, is amazing. I could tell that there was a lot of thought and care put into creating it. I joined a silent retreat and it was just perfect. Accommodation is 5star glamping…all the way down to a plush robe and slippers! Food is delicious and the lounge area is comfy and peaceful. I'm ready to return! Highly recommend.

    Ašuma yoga escapes
    Such an amazing place! The location is so quiet and surrounded by green, all you can hear is birds. The tents are wonderful and attention has been paid to every detail - I loved sleeping practically outside but still in a comfortable bed. Food was also healthy, local and delicious. My retreat was only for two nights but I would have happily stayed another week. Can't wait to return.

    We have an amazing experience in Ashuma right now, September 2023. From the very first day being here is like to be in a fairy-tale: very special place, where natural beauty is connected with lovingly created man made space. Even the smallest details are so well thought, convenient, and ful of soothing positive energy. Tents are lovely to stay, and all other spots (yoga hall, dining area, chill out gathering space etc.) are planned and made with lots of love. Nice to touch, beautiful to see, pleasure to be. And last, but not least is a group of people who make all of this work. Their work is impeccable, they are always here for you in a very genuine, kind and delicate way! Guy, you are truly amazing! Thank you for everything you do.
